Satisfaction and encouragement for the recipients, who were awarded parchments on completion of their training as part of the Prison Education Program (PEP). The outing was supported by the KAYLANG professional training center, which helps to enhance the learners’ skills while guiding them towards key digital projects.
Over 6 months ago, the Digital for future Education association launched this initiative to support people in vulnerable situations in the field of education and digital technology, in order to combat recidivism and contribute to their professional reintegration once they have left prison.
By providing them with computer skills, we give them the tools they need to succeed in society after their release.
Computer skills can help them :
-Find a job: Computer skills are in high demand on the job market, which can increase inmates’ chances of finding stable employment after release.
Develop their entrepreneurial spirit: inmates can use their computer skills to set up their own businesses and become self-sufficient.
– Staying in touch with loved ones: IT enables them to stay in touch with family and friends via social networks and e-mail.
– Access to information and education: Computers give them access to a wealth of information and educational resources that can help them develop personally and professionally.
The presentation of the diplomas was a proud moment for the inmates who had taken the course. It’s recognition of their efforts and commitment to change. It’s also a symbol of hope for their future.
By offering them computer skills, we give them a chance to reintegrate into society and become productive citizens. It’s an investment in their future and in the future of the community.
Let’s take the example of Pierre, an inmate who took a computer training course in prison. After his release, Pierre was able to use his skills to find a job with an IT company. He is now an active member of the community and a positive contributor to society.
Pierre’s story is a concrete example of the positive impact that computer training can have on the lives of prisoners. It’s proof that change is possible and that hope must never be lost.
The task remains great, and we are keen to continue this work by setting up literacy classes and computer courses focusing on digital marketing and coding.
